Wild & Tamed is an exhibition of new photographs by two very different photographers, Carolyn Dew and Rhys Jones. Carolyn’s still life colour photos describe the intersection of the natural world with material culture through tightly framed vignettes of private and public spaces, such as domestic interiors, gardens and cemeteries.

Rhys Jones makes analogue black and white photographs in the tradition of the great American landscape photographers who contributed to the beginnings of the modern environmental conservation movement. Wild & Tamed. will compare and contrast the differences in style and intention of their works to create a unique visual interpretation of the bush, the marginal lands and the tended landscapes of central Victoria.

Dew and Jones will be launching a book of their photographic works at the exhibition launch.

This exhibition has been made possible by the Creative Victoria Regional Centre for Culture 2018 grant.
